Several farmers and forest entrepreneurs, recently equipped with modern machineries for firewood and wood chips processing, are not able yet to face professionally trading and marketing issues. They don’t know in detail the best practices for producing high quality wood chips and fire wood (logistic, storage, delivering). Most of them don’t know enough the energetic content and characteristics of wood as fuels, therefore, it is difficult for them to interpret the wood fuels quality standards (CEN/TS 14961) and write back to the potential costumers a professional and legal trading contract. Very often the firewood and chips producers are not able to propose professionally their products on the market applying effective marketing strategies.
It is addressed mainly to the following market actors: forest entrepreneurs and farmers, already equipped with machineries for firewood and wood chips processing or with high interest/potential to become wood fuels suppliers. The contents of handbook will be written in the most appropriate way easily comprehensible by the targeted market actors.
A common English version has been carried out by the consortium and afterward translated and printed in national language (IT, SI, PL) by each partner. The national versions of the handbook has been by each partner adapted and adjusted according to the specific national situation. The handbook both English and national versions is of around 90-100 pages.
